Passkeys and device authentication
SELEC uses WebAuthn/passkey technology for registration and sign-in. Your device or credential provider performs the biometric or device-security check. SELEC does not need to receive your fingerprint or face image to verify a passkey.
Public profiles and discovery
If you enable public discovery, information intended to be public may be shown through Find, profile pages and other SELEC discovery features. Information you choose to keep private should not be published in public profile fields.
Messages, friends and community content
When you use social features such as Friends From Earth, messaging, profiles or community reports, information necessary to provide those features may be processed. Do not share sensitive information that you do not want stored or transmitted through the service.
Technical data and analytics
The website uses hosting, security and operational services and includes Vercel Web Analytics. These services may process technical information such as requests, device/browser information, approximate location derived from network information, diagnostics and aggregated usage analytics. Analytics is used to understand website traffic and usage rather than to publish your private profile information.
External content
SELEC can display or link to content from external news publishers, social platforms and other services. When you open an external service, that service's own privacy policy and terms apply.

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect account and profile information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
